This new technology is the infusion of nucleotides into a multiplicity of common products enhanced by their presence. The nucleotides were derived by atomic level research that demonstrates their ability to provide screening of ultraviolet (UV) rays at the molecular level.

There are four basic building blocks for all life on earth. The four NA code molecules are named adenine, cytosine, guanine, and thymine and are abbreviated ACGT for their first letters. These versatile units are the fundamental molecular code contained in every strand of DNA in every living plant or animal. DNA determines the make-up of any living cellular structure from a heart cell to a cell in a plant leaf.

After a decade and a half of intense genetic research by NIT’s Dr. Yin-Xiong Li, MD Ph.D., the true capability of these code molecules, called nucleotides or “NA”, have been discovered and brought to a commercially exploitable state through one granted patent and one applied patent, exclusively licensed to NIT or its affiliates.

Dr. Li has a granted patent on the use of nucleotides to protect DNA from UV damage and the method of extracting nucleotides to make them useful for this purpose. Dr. Li’s current patent application extends the protection of DNA to higher energy photons above UV, to include X-Rays and Gamma photon radiation. Most importantly, Dr. Li’s current application shows a more effective method of arranging the nucleotides in arrays, which makes them economically viable for industrial applications. Thus, all high-energy radiation, natural or man-made, which is not filtered by the atmosphere, can be protected by the technology.

This discovery may be considered one of the most profound and valuable discoveries for technological development in the medical and chemical industries. The potential revenues generated by commercialization of NIT’s NA technology can be exploited through manufacturing NA as a raw material and licensing production. We also expect a myriad of other applications, which are also expected to generate significantly more intellectual property.
